| Carlotta
and the Curse of Wolf Manor: A Wing Ding Musical
Oct.
19 — Nov. 4, 8 PM
Tickets:
Brown
Paper Tickets
Show Info: Web
Site
Carlotta's
Late Night Wing Ding is a popular theatre variety
show which has been entertaining audiences in
little venues around Seattle for over 10 years.
Manned by a bunch of lovable misfits, (actually
veterans of improv-based ensemble comedy), the
ordinary Wing Ding features a line up of special
guests, songs and relentlessly wacky shenanigans.
But
this is not quite your ordinary Wing Ding Episode!
It seems Carlotta (Troy Mink), son Slaw (David
Nixon), and pals Nellie (Órla Mc Govern),
Terry (Tom Ledcke), Trinity (Jill Farris) &
Mrs. Celito (Marc Carvajal) have each been summoned
to the mysterious Wolf Manor by its sole occupant
(Karen Jo Fairbrook) for a creepy evening of chasing
down clues. Little do they know that this one
evening of innocent fun will unfold into a saga
more horrific than a dirty toilet seat at your
grandmother's house...and most frightening of
all, it's a musical!
Could
Carlotta be maimed by a foreigner? Will Nellie
survive to see a happy hour at The Turf again?
Can Trinity control her secret passions?
Might Mrs. Celito's odor be due to her diet? Will
Terry ever visit the Pacific Rim? Who will protect
Slaw from any future anal probes if his onstage
family is slaughtered?
Prepare
yourself for a partially improvised Hairy Horror
replete with musical numbers that will have you
singing well beyond your grave. We apologize in
advance if you inadvertently split your sides.
After all, laughter is a very understandable reaction
to PURE TERROR! Mwah-ha- ha!

Late Night Wing Ding
"It's
like being licked and mauled by the mutant love
child of Johnny Carson and 'Hee Haw'." --
Bret Fetzer
After
undergoing horrendous ordeals, witnessing Lupine
massacres and the like at "Wolf Manor",
the cast of Carlotta's Late Night Wing Ding have
thankfully survived to tell the tale. They have
been through so much together, including circumstances
that almost closed the show forever (circumstances
like releasing the black plague, cocaine spillage,
an horrific skating incident and a gruesomely
blocked toilet). To celebrate, they will be having
a most special "Reunion Wing Ding" at
Theatre Off Jackson for ONE WEEKEND ONLY, and
would love to have you come share in the love.
Carlotta’s
Late Night Wing Ding, now in its eighth year,
is a Seattle Favorite. Part talk show, part cabaret,
part dysfunctional family special, the evening
is hosted by charismatic 'Southern Matron' Carlotta
Sue Philpott (played with relish by local improv
guru Troy Mink).
Together
with her wacky friends and family, Carlotta guides
the audience through a swirling night of mayhem,
ripe with musical guests, wacky performance and
general hilarity. There's simply nothing else
like it. The Wing Ding regular cast includes:
Tom Ledcke, Eric Mayer, Órla Mc Govern,
Troy Mink and David Nixon.

| Sgt
Rigsby and his Amazing Silhouettes: A Terrible
Price for Whimsy
Dec.
1 — 23, 8 PM (doors at 7:00pm)
Tickets:
$14, pay-what-you-can Thursdays
Review
from The Stranger
Review
from The Seattle Weekly
This
December playwright/puppeteer Scot Augustson brings
his decidedly unique brand of shadow puppets to
the Theatre Off Jackson. Strictly for adults,
the show is bawdy, intelligent, highly entertaining
and more than a little absurd. Subversive without
being cynical, sly without being ironic.
The brand-spanking new full length show, “A
Terrible Price For Whimsy” centers on boy
inventor Roscoe Riley. Young Roscoe’s troubles
begin when he discovers that time travel and tequila
just don’t mix. A drunken ride on a timecycle
ends with history in shambles. Now a repentant
Roscoe and his trusty dog, Scampers, must put
things right. But first, Roscoe must deal with
murderous first ladies, philosophical hominids,
shady Mexican street dogs, rampaging zebras and
his own sexually confusing future.
With
a nod to Tom Swift books, Merry Melodies, Tintin,
early Monte Python and Icelandic pornography,
“A Terrible Price For Whimsy” promises
to be one of the most eccentric and enjoyable
shows of the holiday season. A roller coaster
ride for the imagination.
Scot’s non-puppet work includes "The
Chris Schussler Incident" "Brent or
Brenda" "Gilgamesh, IA" "Plants
and Animals" and "Intelligence."
In 2004 he directed "Frankenoccio" at
Empty Space.
Tom
Milewski will direct “A Terrible Price For
Whimsy.” Tom’s work includes the documentary
play “Verbatim,” created from interviews
with Puget Sound residents about their jobs; the
musical “Red Ink,” currently in development
at CHAC; and “Performance Memoirs,”
a dance/theater collaboration with Laura Curry
and Lori Dillon. Tom is a Printer’s Devil
Theater company member, and a 14/48 Mazen Award
recipient.
The
show will feature the top-notch vocal talents
of local favorites Stephen Hando, Jonah Von Spreecken,
Keri Healey and Susanna Burney.

Featured

Review
from The
Seattle Weekly
In
the spirit of Jules Verne and all of the great
works of Victorian Science Fiction comes The Excursionists:
An Aristocratic Adventure. Part quick-fire comedy
and part 19th century imperialistic expedition,
The Excursionists is a two-man, 60-minute ride
performed at a depth of 20,000 leagues. Diving
helmets are advised.
This
theatre experience centers on the explorations
of Lord Necksycracksy (Christopher Bange) and
Professor Goggins (Jonah Von Spreecken), who find
themselves country-less upon the discovery that
their beloved England has sunk. Fortunately, with
a most remarkable mode of transport, an underwater
train aptly named The Neptunia Express, these
two posh fellows embark on a quest to discover
a new England...and hopefully one that won’t
sink.

| West
of Brooklyn Theatre Company presents Private
Eyes by Steven Dietz
Jan.
11 — 20
Tickets:
$18
Show Info: West
of Brooklyn Theatre Company
PRIVATE
EYES is a comedy of suspicion in which nothing
is ever quite what it seems. Matthew’s wife,
Lisa, is having an affair with Adrian, a British
theatre director. Or perhaps the affair is part
of the play being rehearsed. Or perhaps Matthew
has imagined all of it simply to have something
to report to Frank, his therapist. And, finally,
there is Cory- the mysterious woman who seems
to shadow the others- who brings the story to
its surprising conclusion. Or does she? The audience
itself plays the role of detective in this hilarious
“relationship thriller” about love,
lust and the power of deception.

Feb. 9- Mar 3, Thurs - Sat 8 PM
Tickets:

Info : Macha
Monkey Productions
Set
in an unknown developing nation, “We Are
Not These Hands” is a cautionary tale of
love, power and global economics. Ever since their
school was blown up, teenagers Moth and Belly
have spent most of their days on the streets,
their grim world colored only by the glow of computer
screens through the windows of the internet café.
That is, until a wandering researcher from a wealthy
neighboring country comes to town. Uninterested
in merely providing a chapter in his book, they
try to convince him to take them back across the
river to a life they have only glimpsed in the
bits and bytes of the virtual world.
We
Are Not These Hands is directed by Joy Brooke
Fairfield (Patty Red Pants at LiveGirls Theatre)
and features Amy Conant (Whacked and Scab at LiveGirls
Theatre) as Moth, Mark Fullerton (One World Theatre
company member) as Leather and Tinka Jonakova
(The Von Foxies, Equus directed by Dan Savage)
as Belly.
Sheila
Callaghan's plays have been produced and developed
with Soho Rep, Playwright's Horizons, South Coast
Repertory, Clubbed Thumb, The LARK, Actor's Theatre
of Louisville, New Georges, and Moving Arts, among
others. Sheila is the recipient of a 2000 Princess
Grace Award for emerging artists, a 2001 LA Weekly

in Italy. Marco wants to send money back to his
wife and children; young Adolpho wants to make
